Floor mats in commercial locations have many purposes. They are a decorative item, they protect the flooring underneath and they provide comfort for employees who spend a lot of time on their feet. In addition, quick-drying mats absorb the excess moisture tracked in on shoes to prevent the surrounding floor from becoming too dirty, or a slipping hazard.

Custom made doormats traditionally are a nylon material over a nitrile rubber base that is easy to clean and will not stain easily. Because the material dries quickly, there is no risk of mould or mildew, even in very wet weather. The mates are made with rubber backs to give them weight so they do not slide on polished floors and will not curl or flip over and become a tripping hazard. The additional benefit of the thick rubber backing is that it also provides shock absorption to reduce the strain on the feet, ankles and knees of workers.

This makes them blend easily into the surrounding decor and gives the location a more professional appearance. Branded Door mats are thick enough to be effective, but not so thick that they will cause any interference with opening doors. Printed mats can be kept clean with regular vacuuming and spot cleaning as needed. When deep cleaning is necessary, any traditional carpet shampoo can be used.
